wBurning down ww14 November 2009

I looked over the mountains
and Spain was burning down,
the sky was landing punches
in the belly of the world

and all along our road
the rows of lined-up lamps
spoke with assuming fission,
for splitting out the guts of

stripped and shot-down trees
that celebrated bruises and
mixed their premonitions
of temporary death
